Dallas County Hospital employees continued their tradition of helping out those in need this holiday season.
Once again, employees organized their annual Giving Tree, which had ornaments dedicated to the needs of underprivileged children in Dallas County. In just two days, staff at the hospital picked up items for the 50 children from 20 different families.
Employees also competed in the Reindeer vs. Snowmen Food Drive Challenge, where the two teams collected almost 300 items for the local food bank.
Also popular was a Toys for Tots drive where staff could donate money to the cause and be able to wear jeans on Fridays throughout the month of December. This alone brought in more than $160.
Interim Chief Executive Officer Donna Vandehaar says their employees understand the importance of giving back to those they serve and she’s proud that they continue to take on the spirit of giving.
