The beginning of the calendar year means it’s budget time for several entities.

Budget worksheets were sent out to City of Perry department heads last week and

City Administrator Sven Peterson says he has asked the department heads to keep their budgets to primarily maintenance items.

“That’s a lot of buildings and grounds maintenance, as well as a lot of departments have their vehicles on rotation for fleet maintenance and also technology.  As we all know, as soon as you buy something there’s something better out there, so we like to keep our computers and our tablets and all of that on a good rotation to make sure we can be the most effective with our technology.”

Peterson says next week Finance Officer Susie Moorhead will be working with department heads to review their budget and capital expenditure requests, followed by budget workshops with the City Council.
