Greene County fell to 0-15 on the high school wrestling season with two Heart of Iowa Activities Conference losses on Thursday night to South Hamilton and PCM (Monroe) in Jewell. The Rams fell 42-22 to the Mustangs despite winning five of the six matches wrestled. Greene County forfeits allowed the Mustangs to win the meet. The match between the Rams and Hawks went to the final match with SH winning by fall and taking a 30-27 decision.

The featured match of the evening saw two undefeated wrestlers square off at 152 lbs. when the Rams met PCM, and Greene County senior Tommy Bradshaw won 10-5 over freshman We Cummings. Bradshaw improved to 13-0 with a 15-0 technical fall victory in his other match. Junior Hunter Ruth won both matches by first period falls, and Isaiah Yoder and Kane Borgeson were also both 2-0 on the night. Yoder won by fall and by 17-5 major decision, and Borgeson won by fall and by a 13-7 regular decision. Freshman Garrett McDowell collected a forfeit vs. SH, and Cayden Gerdes split two matches, winning by 14-2 major decision and losing by fall.

Of the actual matches wrestled, the Rams went 5-1 vs. PCM and 4-2 vs. SH. Next up for Coach Mark Sawhill’s team is the Creston Tournament tomorrow.
