High school basketball teams often get into the flow of the season and a week off from playing games can seem like an eternity. Greene County will find out if the time away from games was beneficial or not when the Rams play CMB in Baxter Tuesday night on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The  Rams last played on Jan. 12 in Monroe vs. PCM with the girls losing 50-27, but the boys won, 76-54.

Both the Greene County and CMB girls are struggling to get victories. The Rams won 41-34 over the Raiders in Jefferson on Dec. 4, and followed that up a few days later with a victory over South Hamilton in Jewell. Since then Coach Dean Lyons team has lost nine games in a row and is 2-11 on the season. CMB has dropped eight straight and is 0-9 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference games and 1-12 overall.

On the boys’ side, Coach Jeramie Hinote’s Rams are 4-8 overall and 3-5 in league play while the Raiders are 2-7 in the conference and 2-9 overall. CMB is coming off a one-sided 66-27 loss in Nevada last Friday while the Rams last game was the surprising win by 22 in Monroe. Greene County won 83-65 on Dec. 4 in Jefferson in the first meeting with CMB. That point total is a season high for the Rams.
