The Perry Bluejay basketball team collected a non-conference win on Monday night, defeating the Woodward Academy Knights 79-60 at the Perry Pavilion. Perry led by 7 after the first quarter, and used a late 2nd quarter burst to claim a 40-27 advantage heading to the break. The Bluejays quickly put the game out of reach in the 2nd half, leading by as many as 25 points.

Kyle Nevitt was the game’s leading scorer with 20, including a two-handed dunk on a fast break in the first half. Three other Bluejays were in double figures, while the Knights were led by a team-high 15 points from Delonquay Richardson. The Bluejays improve their mark to 7-6 (4-3) on the year, while the Knights fall to 3-11. Perry will travel to Carlisle for a boy/girl doubleheader on Friday.
