law enforcement centerThe Entity Board for the Greene County Law Enforcement Center (LEC) met yesterday for their annual meeting.

The Board approved the 2017 fiscal year budget, which will need to be approved by both the Jefferson City Council and the Greene County Board of Supervisors since the police department and the sheriff’s office are housed in the same building.

Chief Deputy Jack Williams reviewed last year’s projects. The floor drain in the restroom was repaired, two new doors were installed for efficiency and security purposes, replaced two furnaces in the basement and communications room and replaced carpet in parts of the LEC.

2016 projects include replacing two more furnaces, installing a new garage door and replacing a roof line overhang. A discussion took place about putting all the projects together and applying for a grant to help offset the total cost of the repairs and replacements to the LEC.
