Later this week Iowa State University College of Design students will be visiting Jefferson.
Jefferson Matters: Main Street Program Director Peg Raney says the Retail Scapes Studio students will be here on Wednesday, January 27th. Seniors and graduate students will be taking tours of the community and then meeting with the public in the evening. Raney says the goal is to gather as much information and feedback from people as possible, so that the students can start working on various projects to help improve the overall look of the City as well as branding it.
Anyone who is interested in sharing their thoughts and ideas can come to City Hall at 5pm. Raney points out that if you can attend, be ready to be an active participant.
“This won’t be a sit back and watch and see what’s happening, they want to visit with you. Then they’ll take that information back and collaborate with the other students in their class and that’s how they’re going to come up with what projects would be perfect for this community.”
The students will make three additional trips to Jefferson throughout the semester with their final recommendations to be presented in April.
