perry chamberWhether you’re looking forward to riding a bicycle for 24 miles in the winter next month or not, the Bike Ride to Rippey is about more for the Perry Chamber than just bringing in visiting cyclists.

Executive Director Bob Wilson says there will be increased traffic in town the morning of February 6th but it’s all worth it and everyone is invited.

“Park your car a couple blocks away and walk down and see it, it’s fun.  We’ve got a fire truck leading everybody and it’s a whole bunch of bikers having a really good time.  It’s kind of an appreciation thing too because everyone is happy and they’re all saying thank you, and they’re thanking the police department for helping and the volunteers.  It’s just a really positive time.  So if you’re a local and need a little cheering up, come on down, we encourage you.”

Even if you don’t ride, Wilson says it’s a great event to witness.

“All day long there’s going to be bikers in town so just slow down, keep an eye out, help somebody if they look lost, help somebody if they look cold.  This is a time for you to be an ambassador for Perry.  This is a great group of people.  If you’ve heard anything negative about BRR in the years past, I encourage you to come down to the Lions Club breakfast that morning at the Hotel Pattee and just meet some of these people that are registering.  They’re a great group, it’s like a big reunion, you can meet some friends.  I guarantee you’re going to have a good time.”

The ride will leave Perry after a cannon start at 10am.  A link to the registration form can be found HERE.
