First responders were on scene for several hours Thursday, responding to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 141 and Highway 144, or 1st Street, in Perry.

Police Chief Eric Vaughn tella Raccoon Valley Radio three vehicles were heading westbound on Highway 141 around 2:30pm  They were stopped at the traffic light when a semi truck hit the back of the first one, causing a chain reaction

The number of people injured and extent of their injuries is not yet known.

The Perry Fire Department, Dallas County EMS and Iowa Motor Vehicle Enforcement assisted at the scene.
