Perry, Greene County, Humboldt, and Ballard met in a wrestling quadrangular in Huxley on Thursday night. Perry ended the evening with an impressive 50-24 Raccoon River Activities Conference victory over the host Bombers to finish 5-2 in the conference. The loss for Ballard was their first and only in the RRAC. Perry also defeated Greene County 60-11, but lost to Humboldt 41-35. Ballard beat Humboldt 51-21 and Greene County 54-19. Humboldt topped the Rams 58-18.
Five Perry wrestlers and two from Greene County went 3-0 on the evening. Blue Jays at 3-0 were Zach Thompson (120), Gisaveri Niyibizi (126), Jacob Thompson (145), Eli Saemisch (170), and Tyler Soll (285). Tommy Bradshaw (152) and Isaiah Yoder (160) were both 3-0 for the Rams. Bradshaw improved to 31-0 on the season with a fall and two technical falls.
In the win over Ballard, Perry had falls from Mana Martinez (113), Zach Thompson (120), Adan Medina (170), Eli Saemisch (182), Alonzo Zarate (195), and Tyler Soll (285). Gisaveri Niyibizi (126), Jacob Thompson (145), and Troy Jahnke (152) won by decision, and Zach Stewart (138) won by technical fall.
