As we’ve reported, Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management is preparing to become part of the Alert Iowa emergency notification system.
Residents are able to sign up today and notifications will be distributed beginning March 1st. Coordinator Bob Kempf says there are many different ways to receive emergency notifications. “You can sign-up up to two email addresses, up to five numbers and if you want text and voice messages on your cell phone, then you need to register with your cell phone number twice.”
Beginning Wednesday, Kempf will hold an informational meeting at each of the Adair and Guthrie County fire stations to show people how to sign up.
Representatives from Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management will be in each community from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on different days during the month of February to assist people in signing up for the new emergency notification system. The community schedule is below:
