Two Greene County Rams football players made their college plans official at a National Letter of Intent signing ceremony Wednesday afternoon at Greene County High School in Jefferson. Paton-Churdan senior Noah Juergensen and Greene County senior Daric Whipple sat side-by-side at a table and signed letters of intent to continue their football careers at Iowa State University. Both have been invited to walk onto the Cyclones football program without scholarships, but with the Preferred moniker and opportunities to earn scholarships at some point of their careers. Both have been All-District and All-State performers in Class 3A for the Greene County Rams.

Juergensen was a two-way lineman for the Rams and he told Raccoon Valley Radio he preferred defense while in high school, but is fine with whichever side of the line ISU coaches feel is a better fit.

Whipple played quarterback and defensive back for the Rams, and he told RVR that a college position is to be determined among slot receiver on offense or a safety on defense.

Both plan on taking ISU courses in June, which also allows them to participate in the Cyclones’ summer workout program.
