The West Central Valley Community School District’s fiscal year 2015 audit has been released.
The audit, performed by accounting firm Hogan-Hansen, reports that the district received revenues of $12.945 million. The biggest source of revenue was $6.726 million from local and other taxes.
Expenses for the fiscal year totaled $11.733 million. The largest expense was $4.729 million for regular instruction.

An early morning Thursday fire has destroyed a commercial building in the 500 block of Sherman Street in Menlo.
Both political parties in Guthrie County report that Monday evening’s caucus ran smoothly.
Democratic Party Chair Kathy Miller says voter turnout was outstanding, adding that blue precinct voters had to switch their polling place from the Panorama High School commons to the auditorium in order to accommodate the large crowd. She adds that great amounts of enthusiasm among local Democrats helped to ease the long lines and registration process experienced by some voters.
Republican Chair Myrna Beeber says their events ran smoothly, in spite of record-breaking attendance numbers. She credits the training that volunteers received from the Republican Party of Iowa for making the events run so well.
Hillary Clinton was the top choice of Guthrie County Democrats and Ted Cruz received the most Republican votes in Guthrie County during Monday’s caucus.

Ted Cruz was the top choice of Guthrie County Republicans in Monday night’s Iowa Caucus, receiving 28.9% of the local vote. Donald Trump was second among Guthrie County Republican, receiving 27.6% of the vote. Third through fifth place went to Marco Rubio (15.6%), Ben Carson (14.2%) and Rand Paul (3.7%).
Hillary Clinton was the top choice among Guthrie County Democrats, receiving 55% of the vote. Bernie Sanders received the other 45% of the Democratic vote.
