Greene County High School students Nick Schroeder and Ethan Woodruff have qualified to swim at the Iowa High School Athletic Association State Meet on Feb. 13 in Marshalltown. Schroeder, Woodruff, and others from Greene County swim for Boone through an athletic sharing agreement.

Schroeder has qualified in four events and Woodruff in two. Boone was in the Ft. Dodge district on Feb. 6 and finished fifth among eight teams. Ames won the team title with West Des Moines Valley in second place.

Individually, Schroeder was second on Saturday in both the 50 yard freestyle and 100 freestyle and he enters the State meet with the seventh fastest qualifying time (21.62 seconds) in the 50 and the eighth fastest (47.62) in the 100.

Both Schroeder and Woodruff were on two relays that qualified. The 200 freestyle relay sits 22nd at 1:31.78, and the 400 freestyle is 24th at 3:23.52. There are 24 qualifiers statewide per event.
