The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a male subject from Scranton that had not returned home or contacted any family members for several days.
The Sheriff was dispatched to the Union Pacific Railroad crossing on Highway 144 in Grand Junction for a gravity flow grain wagon that had broken an axle while crossing the tracks, spilling corn onto the tracks. Joe Dolan of Grand Junction was pulling the large gravity flow wagon with a farm tractor. The Union Pacific Rail Road was advised of the situation and stopped a westbound train for a short time while the wagon and grain was quickly removed from the crossing.
Two deputies, Grand Junction Fire and Rescue and Greene County EMS all responded to a reported two vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 30 near X Avenue, east of Grand Junction. A 2006 Saturn Vue being driven by Jerri Lynn Riesberg 53, of Carroll, was westbound on Highway 30 when she crossed the centerline and struck a 1994 Buick being driven by James Michael Lefeber 34, of Jefferson. Jerri Riesberg was transported the Greene County Medical center for further evaluation of minor injuries. She was issued a citation for crossing the CenterLine. James Lefeber was not injured but was issued a citation for Failure to Have a Valid Driver’s License. Both vehicles were determined to be total losses.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
