They say it’s difficult to beat a team three times in the same season. While that superstition may be against the West Central Valley Wildcats girls basketball team when they host Earlham in the opening round of the postseason Saturday night, math may be on their side as the BCMoore algorithm lists them as 25 point favorites.

It’s an interesting situation, because the two teams just played each other in a regular season contest on Tuesday. Wildcats head coach Drew Stonewall says with Earlham having fresh film of his squad, his girls might need to hustle extra hard to maintain a competitive edge. “I hope that we bring the energy, the effort and I hope we’re diving for loose balls and talking on both sides of the floor.”

Tip off scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday night at West Central Valley High School.
