The Panora City Council has approved a plan to install 17 security cameras in the City’s Main Street area over the next five years.

The first two cameras will be mounted on poles one block east of City Hall at a cost of approximately $350 each. City officials stress that the cameras will be used for monitoring criminal activity and won’t be used to identify traffic violations.
