The Guthrie Center boys basketball team will continue their march towards the state competition tomorrow night when they meet Paton-Churdan on a neutral court at IKM-Manning. The Tigers have a record of 7-14 heading into the second round postseason matchup and Paton-Churdan is 15-5. Despite the large difference in record, the BCMoore algorithm says Paton-Churdan is just an eight point favorite to win. For Guthrie Center to win, their two seniors, Sam Courtney and TJ Wickland must have big games. The duo have scored approximately 75% of Guthrie Center’s points all season and that rang true Monday night when they combined for 38 of the team’s 51 points in an opening round postseason win over Adair-Casey. Thursday’s game begins at 6:30 p.m. inside of the IKM-Manning gym.
