It’s been a terrific year for the Tiger wrestler Zach Johnston. The senior battled his way to a 50-3 record and the two time state runner up became what he was destined to become…the class 1A 106 lb state champion.
The Tiger leader took down Solon’s Trevor Nelson with an 11-4 decision to take the crown. The senior was one of six ADM wrestlers to head to the state tournament, but the only Tiger to win his weight class. The state title was one of six tournament victories this season for Johnston.
Now, the senior Tiger can now add 2015-2016 All-State team member to his already impressive high school resume. Johnston was voted in as the top wrestler in class 1A at 160 lbs for that all-state spot last week by IA Wrestle.
A pretty impressive high school resume for this stellar Tiger wrestler, he will be leaving ADM having earned two state tournament runner up medals, and the coveted first place medal within his four year high school career at ADM.
