Two grants recently received by the Stuart Public Library have allowed them to digitize newspaper articles from the 19th and early 20th century.
A $1,500 grant from Empowering Adair County and $1,000 grant from the City of Stuart have allowed the library to archive Stuart Locomotive, Stuart Ledger and Stuart Herald editions from 1871-1921. The archives are available 24/7 on the library’s website.
Director Sandy Pollard says the archives are an invaluable tool for historians, genealogists, and current and future residents of Stuart curious about the city’s past.
