Jefferson Matters: Main Street has announced their second “cash mob” event later this month.
“Spendin’ of the Green” will be happening on Saturday, March 12th. Participants will gather at the Main Street office on Lincoln Way at 10:30am. Another business will be drawn from a hat and everyone will “mob” that store and pledge to spend at least $20. Once shopping is done, the group will eat lunch at the Peony Chinese Restaurant.
Participants are then asked to write their name on their receipt and a winner will be drawn for $25 in Greene County Chamber bucks. A second drawing will also be held by the restaurant for someone else to win even more Chamber bucks.
The first-ever cash mob was held last month and 33 people participated. Individuals spent over $700 at Ben Franklin/Tech Zone and Nancy Teusch won a gift certificate to the Sierra Community Theatre.
There’s no pre-registration needed.
