Jacket Image - SISTERS OF SHILOHEveryone is invited to participate in this year’s Greene County Reads program.

Jefferson Library Director Jane Millard says the book for next month’s discussions is called Sisters of Shiloh by Becky and Kathy Hepinstall. It is a fictional story set in North Carolina during the Civil War. Two sisters decide to join the Confederate Army, disguised as men, after one of the sisters loses her husband in a battle. Participants are then encouraged to attend one of the three book discussions on Thursday, April 7th.

The Greene County Reads program is put on by all six county libraries, which Millard points out allows for more people to be involved.

“Because we live as a community in our county, it’s fun to see what other people think about the same book. Everyone has such interesting thoughts about what they found in the story that appealed to them. It’s a wonderful opportunity to share the love of reading.”

The discussions will take place at the Grand Junction Library at 9am, Paton Public Library at 2pm and at the Jefferson Library at 7pm on April 7th. Retired teacher Jan Scharingson will lead the discussions. The program is co-sponsored by the Greene County Board of Supervisors.

Copies of the book are available at any of the county libraries.
