A Greene County Medical Center nurse was recently recognized as one of Iowa’s top nurses.

Registered Nurse Jenny Taylor was named as one of the 100 Great Iowa Nurses of 2016. The award is given to someone that exemplifies “meaningful and lasting contributions to humanity and the nursing profession.” She was nominated by the medical center’s Chief Nurse Executive Katie Heldt who noted that Taylor leads by example and her passion she has for nursing.

Taylor works in West Central Orthopedics clinic with Dr. Jeffrey Wahl. She was the first-ever DAISY Award winner for the medical center in August of 2014, which honors those nurses who show extraordinary care for patients.

Taylor will be recognized at an awards ceremony at the Events Center/Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in Des Moines on May 1st.
