The annual Greene County High School wrestling program potluck supper and awards night was held Monday in the middle school gym in Jefferson. Letters and other awards were presented.
The Rams went winless (0-22) in dual meets due largely to never filling more than seven of the 14 weight classes and having to forfeit multiple weights. Greene County actually won more matches than it lost (150-117) in the matches they competed in.
Senior Tommy Bradshaw compiled a 40-3 record and qualified for the Class 2A State Tournament. He went 1-2 at state and was a top 12 finisher at 152 lbs. Bradshaw wrestled in three State Tournaments in his career, one in Missouri and two in Iowa with the Rams.
Sophomore Kane Borgeson (113) was also a State qualifier, but was injured in the district meet and was not able to participate in the State Tournament. Junior Isaiah Yoder (160) was a District qualifier.
Letter winners were the trio above, as well as sophomore Cayden Gerdes (132), sophomore Isaac Ireland (138), senior Mark Kendall (170) and junior Hunter Ruth (195).
Bradshaw was the Outstanding Wrestler. Yoder received the Brad Badher Mr. Determination Award, the Fred Watson Award, and the Aaron Beaman Most Improved Award. Borgeson received the Jake Taggart Mr. Hustle Award and he was also named Outstanding sophomore. Ireland received the Logan Scheuermann Award for being the outstanding JV wrestler. Team Captains were Bradshaw, Kendall, Ruth, and Yoder. Dave Davis received the Super Booster Award.
