The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
At the meeting, the Board approved payroll change notices for the assessor’s office, planning and zoning office and secondary roads department, with Supervisor Kim Chapman voting no. An out of state travel request for Human Resources Director Erin Freeman was also approved. She will be attending the National Public Employer Labor Relations conference in Nashville next month.
The 26th change order for the human services campus renovation project was then considered. Architect Jerry Purdy with Design Alliance says this is for electrical, masonry and interior finish changes at an additional cost of $44, 220. This brings the total project cost up to $3,643,000. Purdy also noted that the punch list for the campus is down to a single page list and still being worked on by Larson and Larson construction.
Dust control vendor permits were then approved. Engineer Al Miller says three companies have applied for permits to provide the service in the county, Heffron Services, Jerino Services and Miner Services. Miller says two applications per year typically does the trick in controlling the dust on gravel roads.
A public hearing in regards to non-current debt for drainage district six was then set for March 22nd at 9:30am.
James Uthe of Adel was then re-appointed as the County’s Weed Commissioner with a salary of up to $5,273 for a six month period, plus necessary travel expenses.
The Board then presented the 2017 budget to the media before holding a spaces needs workshop and holding an evening public hearing on the budget before approval.
