Greene County Medical Center recently signed their third and final contract with a Managed Care Organization, prior to the start of Iowa’s privatization of Medicaid on April 1st.

The medical center finalized their contract with Amerigroup, which is one of three MCO’s that will provide Medicaid. The hospital already has contracts with the other two including United Healthcare and AmeriHealth Caritas. By having these contracts, the medical center will continue to provide covered care for Medicaid recipients.

Visiting specialists and UnityPoint Clinic are conducting their own negotiations and are not part of the medical center’s arrangements.  Medicaid recipients are encouraged to communicate directly with their individual providers and have until May 18th to change provider if necessary.
