The Guthrie Center City Council met Monday night.
The Council continued to discuss a proposed dangerous and vicious dog ordinance but took no action on the subject. Councilor Randy Nickel says he wants more enforcement than what Chapter 55 of the city ordinances allows for, including the addition of a leash law. Councilors Patrick Halsey and Ian Steensen agreed with Nickel that a leash law could be a good step for the City. Nickel says he wants to take at least two more months to continue to work on any dog ordinance before bringing it back to the table for a vote.
Plus, the Council voted unanimously to adopt the fiscal year 2017 budget, as presented.
Additionally, the Council set Monday, March 28th as a date to approve a development agreement with Guthrie County State Bank, including annual appropriation of tax increment payments.
Plus, the Council approved a combination of funds to purchase banners and a bench, and selected Randy Nickel as the primary appointee and Patrick Halsey as the secondary appointee to the EMS Commission.
