Megan Durbin of Jefferson tied for first place in the high jump on Monday inside the Lied Recreation Center in Ames at the ISU High School Girls Classic track and field meet. The Greene County sophomore was asked by Raccoon Valley Radio how she felt about the performance. “I did very well for the beginning of the season. It was unexpected!” Durbin talked about how Monday’s performance might translate to the outdoor season. “Seeing as last season I only got 4′ 10″ at that meet and this year I went 5′ 2″, I think it will help me, and I will do much better this season than last year.”

Durbin was the Class 3A State Meet runner-up in the high jump last May at Drake Stadium with a best leap of 5′ 4″.

The Greene County girls and boys are scheduled to open the outdoor season on Monday, March 28 in Jefferson at Linduska Field for the Greene County Early Bird Meet.
