Greene County High School girls’ head track and field coach Kelly Simpson watched his team compete indoors on Monday of this week and he told Raccoon Valley Radio he was pleased with what he saw. The Rams were in the very large ISU High School Girls Classic inside the Lied Recreation Center in Ames. Sophomore Megan Durbin tied for first place in the high jump at 5′ 2″, and several other performances also did well. The coach said, “I was really pleased. Some of the things we were looking to see happen did. We have new kids in new events looking to be the stars after we graduated those seniors last year. I was really pleased with how they performed, so it was a good, good start, a good confidence builder for those kids.”

The Greene County girls and boys are scheduled to open the outdoor season on Monday, March 28 in Jefferson at Linduska Field for the Greene County Early Bird Meet at 4:30 p.m.
