Easter Egg Hunt this Weekend in Jefferson
All youth from toddlers to third graders are invited to an Easter egg hunt in Jefferson this weekend.
It is co-sponsored by the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department and the Jefferson Kiwanis Club. Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says they usually hide about 900 plastic eggs and each participant is guaranteed to get at least one egg filled with candy. She points out that businesses and organizations also donate other prizes, which they give away at the end of the event.
“This year, we have some monetary donations, so we’re going to be giving away some (Greene County) Chamber bucks. We also will have a drawing for a chocolate, huge Easter bunny. So after the Easter egg hunt, we’ll get everybody into the gym (at the community center) and we’ll have a drawing for the prizes that we have available from the donors. So, it’ll be a lot of fun.”
Check-ins begin at 9:30am on Saturday at the Greene County Community Center and the hunt will begin at 10am. Plus, parents can take pictures of their kids with the Easter bunny for free. Pre-registrations are encouraged by calling 386-3412.
