The Stuart Public Library is hosting a massive book sale.
Library Director Sandy Pollard says hundreds of books are being sold for between $.10 and $3.00, but may be worth much more if you find a diamond in the rough. “While we were going through these books, we found some that were pretty valuable. One Currier and Ives book we found is worth $150. We are keeping that, of course, and probably selling it for market price, because we need money.”
Pollard says all proceeds from the book sale help the library. “The money goes to the Stuart Library Foundation, which was created to support the library. They have bought all of our books for us over the past few years, because there is no money in our budget to buy books.”
The book sale will last through Thursday.
