The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday.
The Board continued to discuss Health Insurance Affordability and Accountability Act security policies with Panora Telco representative David Garland. The suggested policies use technology and employee accountability to protect sensitive or private information on computers and other digital devices owned by the County. Some of the initial ideas presented so far include requiring employees to use complicated computer login passwords that they are required to change every 90 days. Additionally, employees would no longer be able to share email addresses and would be required to lock their computers if they leave their desk.
One of the steps remaining in the policy implementation process is defining who specifically will oversee and manage the policies once they are in place.
The Board is scheduled to discuss the policies further with Mental Health Coordinator Diane Jackson at Thursday’s meeting.
