Yard waste pick-up season starts today in Perry.
City crews will collect various yard waste items each Wednesday through mid-November.
City Administrator Sven Peterson reminds residents that while this is a free service, there are rules.
“Paper yard waste bags, no plastic bags. If you’re going to bundle stuff it has to be in four foot lengths and can’t weigh more than 40 pounds. Also, we’ll be doing the same concept where we’ll switch between the north side of Willis (Avenue) and south side of Willis every other week.”
Today there’s a city wide pick-up but starting next week crews will collect items on the north side of Willis Avenue, followed by the south side on the 13th.
To assure prompt pick-up, all times should be placed at the curb by 7am Wednesdays.
