The Guthrie County Sheriff’s office has released the results of a special Traffic Enforcement Project from March 16th-19th.
According to Chief Deputy Jeremy Bennett, the Sheriff’s office issued 18 citations, 14 of which were for speeding. Additionally, 53 warnings were issued and three arrest warrants were served, including one for a felony.

The Stuart Cottage Pantry assisted nearly 90 households and over 225 people in the month of March.
Chair Vi Jones says donated items needed at this time include flour, sugar, Jell-O, pudding, condiments and paper products.
The pantry is open each Wednesday from 1:30-5:00 p.m. at 204 South Division Street, beneath the Raccoon Valley Radio station.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has announced the opening of cabins at several state parks around the state, including one in Guthrie County.
Visitors can now enjoy a night in a cabin at Springbrook State Park, located on Highway 25 north of Guthrie Center. Rental rates are $200 per night.

A Menlo man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on an outstanding Audubon County warrant.
The Audubon County Sheriff’s office and Stuart Police Department teamed up to arrest 32-year-old Patrick Lawrence Nolte on a charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, a Class C felony.
The Sheriff’s office says the charge stems from an incident that occurred in the 2300 block of 210th Street on June, 25th 2015.
Nolte was released following an appearance before the magistrate.

Greenfield Municipal Utilities will flush city fire hydrants later this month.
The flushing will take place during the week of April 18th-22nd and residents should be advised that some water discoloration may occur. If you have any questions call 641-743-2741.
