April 10th through the 16th is recognized as National Library Week.
There are a few special activities that the Jefferson Public Library staff are hosting this week to celebrate.
Children’s Librarian Terry Clark says on Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30pm will be a program called “See How I’ve Changed.” The program is for infants to six year-olds and their families with lot of fun activities planned.
“We have some great stories, creative activities, fun crafts and refreshments for everyone that attends. You know children grow so quickly. This is an amazing time in their lives and we want to celebrate that.”
There is also Ready Readers Storytime each Wednesday from 10 to 11:30am for youth ages three to six year-olds. A free movie will also be shown each Wednesday at 2pm.
In the adult department, Library Director Jane Millard says they will be having a “Story Swap” event from 2 to 4pm, where participants can share their stories.
“I love to sit around and reminisce. I like to hear stories about our community and about how lives have changed. We’re really looking forward to this.”
It will be in the basement meeting room of the library on Thursday. All events are free.
