Today kicks off National Library Week and the Perry Public Library invites everyone to celebrate.
The week-long promotion aims to shine a light on how libraries enrich lives through literacy, information, education and entertainment, which fits along with this year’s theme, Libraries Transform.
All week library patrons can get rid of their fines by donating to the local food pantry. The Food for Fines amnesty program allows library card holders to bring in a non-perishable grocery item to donate for each find on their account.
The Friends of the Library will have free cookies for visitors to enjoy, along with special displays and you can register for door prizes.
