Perry and Adel residents will be asked to weigh in on their current jobs as part of a labor shed analysis.

The Greater Dallas County Development Alliance and Iowa Workforce Development’s Regional Research Bureau are developing the study. It will examine the labor force that Adel and Perry employers dray their workers from, based on commuting patterns in the area.

The goal is to help both current and potential businesses better understand the size and characteristics of the area’s labor force.

Adel employers will be asked to provide counts of their employee’s ZIP codes.  A phone survey will then be conducted in the areas that are identified.  Residents will be asked about their employment status, current and desired wages and benefits, education level and type of occupation.

The results will then be applied to a demographic data to determine the size of the labor force in Perry and Adel as well as other characteristics.
