The Adel De Soto Minburn School Board approved their annual budget recently.
The total levy for the next fiscal year will remain stable at $17.92 per $1,000 of property tax valuation. Superintendent Greg Dufoe says the 2.25% supplemental state aid set by the state legislature is “absolutely inadequate” and the average SSA over the past seven years is just 1.93%.
Dufoe says “there is no question that while our fiscal health is currently quite strong, our future condition is less than rosy. Low SSA amounts and the pressure of growth (and a one year lag in state funding) are real for us.
The next fiscal year begins July 1st.
