Raccoon Valley Radio brings home hardware from awards ceremony.
The annual Iowa Broadcast News Association awards ceremony was held on Saturday and Raccoon Valley Radio earned ten awards.
Greene County News Director Coltrane Carlson won first place in small market radio for use of actuality category. Dallas County News Director Samantha Smith earned second place in political coverage and Guthrie County News Director Andrew Zupkoff, who also writes for sports, received second place for sports coverage.
The station also received recognition for spot news, general reporting, overall excellence in reporting, overall best use of online media, weather coverage, best newscast and overall excellence in anchoring.
The annual convention and awards banquet was at The Isle Casino in Waterloo.
