It’s a big sports week ahead for the Greene County High School teams. The golf teams each play twice, the track & field squads have a regular season meet, plus it’s the week of the Drake Relays in Des Moines.

Coach Heath Telleen’s girls’ golfers play on Tuesday, April 26 vs. Gilbert in a make up meet at The Hill west of Grand Junction at 4 p.m. They’ll follow up that nine hole event on the 26th with 18 holes on April 28 in Story City vs. Roland-Story starting at 2 p.m.

Coach Dave Destival’s boys’ golf team plays on April 28 vs. Saydel (Des Moines) at the Lakeside Golf Course northwest of Grand Junction at 4 p.m., then goes to Dayton on April 29 for the Southeast Valley tournament at 4 p.m.

The girls and boys track & field squads from Greene County HS go to Woodward on April 26 for a coed invitational starting at 4:30 p.m. Sophomore Megan Durbin has qualified for the HS girls’ high jump competition at the Drake Relays at Drake Stadium on April 28 at 3 p.m. She’s been among the top jumpers in the state all season and has a career best leap of 5′ 5″ to her credit, which she accomplished at the Ram Relays in Jefferson on April 19.
