The defending state champion Panorama boys golf  team is ranked 7th in the first Iowa Golf Coaches Association rankings of the season. Defending individual state champion Will Babcock is ranked 43rd. Head coach Hal Rossow believes there may be a mistake in how the rankings were calculated. “It doesn’t have a lot of credence right now. I’ve got to check and see what happened. I send in our scores, the course we played and the course rating. Then the Association puts that data into their computer to calculate the adjusted stroke average. If you shoot a 36 at Panorama, it’s a tough course, so it adjusts to about a 36.3. If I shoot a 36 at someplace like the 5×80, it’s an easier course, so it equates to about a 37.5. I think there might be a mistake or two in the course ratings or something.”

The Panthers compete again Saturday in a tournament at the Coon Rapids Country Club.
