Spring sports seasons are short and usually go fast, and that’s the case for the Greene County High School track & field teams. The Rams have just over a week left in the regular season with little more than two weeks before the Class 3A State Qualifying Meet they’ve been assigned to in Winterset.

Greene County goes to Gilbert on Tuesday, May 3 for the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference meet at 4 p.m. The regular season ends on May 5 at the North Polk Invitational at Gilbert at 4:30 p.m. The coed meet used for state meet qualification is at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 12.

One Greene County athlete will be participating in the Drake Relays inside Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Sophomore Megan Durbin is in the high school girls’ high jump at 3 p.m. tomorrow. Durbin is among Iowa’s best female high jumpers with a best clearance of 5′ 5″ earlier this month.
