Greene County was a double winner in track & field on Tuesday in Woodward at the Woodward-Granger Hawk Coed Relays. Greene County was by far the largest school at the meet. The Rams had 132 points to win the boys’ team title with Iowa Christian Academy (West Des Moines) at 102, W-G 99.33, Glidden-Ralston 95.33, West Central Valley 85.33, and 34 from Paton-Churdan. The Greene County girls won with 185.5 points, followed by G-R 109, W-G 106.5, ICA 73, and 49 for P-C.
Greene County individual girls’ winners were: high jump- Megan Durbin, 4′ 8″; 100 meter dash- Durbin :13.00; 800 meter run- Chantel Flack, 2:38.40; 1,500 meter run- Haley Hall, 5:38.40; 3,000 meter run- Hall, 11:55.00; discus throw- Kenna Marquardt, 106′ 4″; shot put- Marquardt, 32′ 5″; 4 x 100 meter relay, :54.40; Sprint medley relay- 1:57.90; Distance medley relay- 4:46.60.
First place events for the Greene County boys were: 100 m dash- Max Neese, :11.20; 200 m dash- Neese, :22.80; 400 m low hurdles- Daric Whipple, :57.80; 4 x 100 m relay, :44.90; 4 x 200 m relay- 1:34.60; shuttle hurdle relay, 1:08.10.
Paton-Churdan did not have any boys’ first place events, but the Rockets did win three girls’ events. Megan Carey won the 400 m dash in 1:02.10, Carey won the long jump at 16′ 6″, and Carleigh Paup placed first in the 100 m hurdles in 17.40.
