A flood warning for the North Raccoon River in Dallas County remains in effect.
According to the National Weather Service, the warning is for the North Raccoon River near Perry, or from the Greene-Dallas County line to Adel, and lasts through Friday morning.
Levels were expected to peak yesterday at 16.5 feet but U.S. Army Corp of Engineers’ river gauges show the latest levels are around 16.75 feet, or 1.75 feet above flood stage and still rising.
Minor flooding continues to occur, especially on 125th Trail north of Dawson and west of Highway P46, along with water over portions of Highway 169 north of Adel and near the Dallas County Fairgrounds.
As a reminder, if you encounter a flooded area it’s important to turn around and find an alternate route.
Rain and storms may return early next week.
