The Perry boy’s soccer team moved one step closer to a Raccoon River Conference championship Tuesday night rallying to beat Ballard 3-2.  The Bombers led 1-0 at halftime but David Cardenas tied the game early in the second half on an unassisted goal.  Ballard countered with a goal of their own at the 59 minute mark to grab a 2-1 lead.  Perry turned up the heat over the final 10 minutes as Ivan Garcia scored a pair of goals just 3 minutes apart.  Garcia’s equalizer came off an assist by Christian Gardado.  Garcia scored the game winner unassisted at the 78 minute mark.

“We really dominated the final 15 minutes of the game,” added Head Coach Gary Overla.  “We were in their zone the entire time and Ivan was able to come up big for us.  It’s a big win because we stay on track for a conference championship.”

Perry will play ADM at Dewey Field Tuesday night for the Raccoon River Conference championship.  Perry is now 9-1 on the season and 5-0 in RRC action.
