With the first few practices of summer in the books today marks T-minus two weeks until the ADM softball team pounces on the 2016 season.

The Lady Tigers started practices on Monday and are already hungry for another state tournament run this season. ADM ended the 2014-15 season last year yielding class 4A’s best record at 32-5 behind exceptional senior talent and leadership. That leadership that led the Tigers to boast the second best ERA in class 4A along with just 29 errors committed on the season is back in full swing for this year.

That leadership is one thing that head softball coach Rick Dillinger sees as one of ADM’s biggest strengths coming into this year.

“The big thing is we have so much experience coming back even though we did loose our starting third basemen and shortstop from last year. With the experience back we’ll look for the hitting to continue and the good pitching we’ve had to continue,” stated coach Dillinger.

The first game for the Lady Tiger softball team will take place on May 24th as they travel to Des Moines to take on Des Moines Roosevelt high school in a 6:00 pm match up
