Jefferson City Council 5_10The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.

The Council approved the final change order number two of $5,558.20 for the 2015 water and sanitary improvement project, along with a sub-final pay estimate of $5,280.29 and the sixth pay estimate of $33,690.96 for the project.

The Council also approved the purchase of a well pump for $19,250 for the Jefferson Community Golf Course. Funding would come from local option sales and services tax. Manager Micah Destival told the Council that they are up to 100 members and they’ve made improvements to the course such as adding a new bunker to one of the holes, adding more cart paths and re-installing the pond on hole number three.

The Council scheduled May 24th for a public hearing on the 2016 fiscal year budget amendments.

Jefferson Matters: Main Street design committee presented several options for banners and planters to be put on the brick columns around the downtown square. A final proposal will be brought to the Council at a future meeting.

Finally, City Administrator Mike Palmer said Greene County Development Corporation approved to give a four and a half acre lot in their west business park to the City to build a new animal shelter with the contingency that it must be built within three years.
