One of Adair County Health System’s medical clinics will be permanently closing next month.

The Board of Trustees recently made the decision to close the Fontanelle Clinic on June 1st, in order to maintain fiscal responsibility with Adair County taxpayer dollars.The Board says low patient volume and close proximity to the Greenfield clinic warranted closing the clinic.

Patients have been notified and their medical records will be accessible at any other Adair County Health System location. Southern Iowa Trolley will transfer individuals from Fontanelle to Greenfield on weekdays for a small fee.

The Board wants patients to know that clinics in Greenfield and Stuart will continue to operate on a full-time basis.
