Iowa high school tracks version of the post season will be underway for both the ADM track teams today as the state qualifying meets will take place this afternoon.
Both the ADM girls and boys track teams will partake in those state qualifying meets in Winterset. Both Tiger teams will take part in an 8 team field containing three fellow Raccoon River Conference teams in Perry, Carlisle, and Winterset.
ADM’s lone Drake qualifier Jacob West sits atop the rankings in the high jump event within the Winterset district meet with his jump of 6″4 inches which sits four inches higher than Chariton’s Jackson Fisher at six feet even.
The Lady Tigers come in with the second most events ranked within the top two covering 5 out of 7 relay events. Two are of the first place variety with the 4 x 100 meter shuttle hurdle relay at 1:06.55 and the 4 x 400 meter relay team at 4:11.74. ADM’s 4 x 200, 4 x 800, and 1600 medley relay teams come in at the second place variety. Individually for the Lady Tigers ADM has two individuals leading two events, which leads the Winterset state qualifying site. Senior Maggi Bjustrom leads in both the 100 meter hurdles at 14.66 and the 200 meter dash at 26.26. Fellow senior Brianna Mueller is also double dipping in the top spot for both the 800 meter and 1500 meter runs. Junior Sydney Bertman sits in second in the long jump at 16-04 and freshmen Anna Kenny sits at second in the 400 meter dash with her time of 1:01.
Both the girls and boys’s state qualifying meets in Winterset will commence at 4:00 this afternoon.
