The post season is right around the corner for Iowa high school girls soccer teams. The Iowa High School Girls Athletic Union recently released their regional pairings for the 2016 season.

The 5th ranked ADM/Van Meter girls soccer team will receive a bye for the first round thanks in part to their unblemished 11-0 record on the season so far. The Lady Tigers will have their first shot at postseason action on May 31st when they take on the winner of the round one match up between Chariton and Des Moines North.

The first playoff game is always an exciting and nervous time for both teams and coaches. While it may be a little nerve racking ADM/Van Meter girls head soccer coach Kelsey Gaffney remains confident in her teams performance to earn the victory.

“Honestly it is a little nerve racking but if our players show up and play a full 80 minuets, we’ll be just fine. It’s exciting; another great opportunity for us to accomplish some of our goals,” stated coach Gaffney.

The Lady Tigers will have a few more games until that May 31st match up including their match up tonight as they square off against Newton at Island Park starting at 7:00 pm.
